Pax Cultura
Pax Cultura: Peace for Jerusalem is inspired by the symbol of the same name by Nicholas Roerich. The original symbol stands for "peace through culture" and represents the idea that the protection of humanity's great artifacts should be a catalyst for peace between nations.
This illustration was adapted for Jerusalem in particular and seeks to show that the Holy Land's treasures are the property of all of humankind and their protection against the casualties of war should be of prime importance to all conflicting parties. It is a call for mutual cooperation grounded in the desire to preserve and protect the cultural, historic, and anthropological treasures Jerusalem houses. Illustration is done in ink.
