The Rose
The Rose is the second in a series of illuminated manuscripts I plan to create and compile into a handbound book. This one in the series focuses on the symbolism of the Cross. The quote I chose is by the Sufi poet mystic Rumi, it reads, “What was said to the rose that made it open was said to me here in my chest.” The illuminated word is ROSE. The content of the visuals are my meditations on the symbolism of the cross through the scope of world religion, philosophy, mythology, and the occult.
